    Well I'm glad to hear the leg is doing better. I wonder if the anesthesia could have thrown something out of balance with his kidneys. If so, hopefully it's just a short term issue.

    UTI is usually a bladder infection with no real involvement from the kidneys. If there are crystals in his urine, it means there's a problem with the kidneys themselves. Kidneys make the crystals. They are not made in the bladder.

    He could have stones/crystals in his bladder. I friend of mine's English Setter suffered from these. Don't want to alarm you, but her dog had to have surgery to remove them. Hoping that is not the case for Buddy. Glad to hear his leg is doing well.
