I bought three portable crates from Costco for my dog. Two of the crates are of the same brand and look exactly the same, and the third crate is of a different brand. All three are holding up to wear and tear very nicely (still in great shape and in use). I also haul my portable crates to shows and trials with me, so the do get "abused" quite a bit. I would recommend getting them from Costco.

I have a "Canine Camper" and I really like it - not sure of the size right now, but it's one of the bigger ones, but not the biggest. It is a little pricier than some of them, but very well built, very easy to set up. Comes with a cover and a little wooden floor with a fleece cover and several pockets. I have no complaints with it. It also might be a little heavier than some, but I can carry it without any problems. We use it for obedience competition. I know that some breed shows don't allow soft-sided crates, but all the obedience people seem to use them.

    Hi Chrissy!

I have this one: http://www.firstrax.net/product.php?b=1&id=35 for Henry, in the 36" and the 42" size. The 42" one stays at home and is his permanent crate, while the 36" one travels with us to shows or if we're visiting friends/family.

It's great, so easy to set up and break down, and easy to clean. I can take the tough fabric cover off (it's velcro'ed in place around the support bars) and throw it right into the washer.

I've had both for Henry since he was probably about a year old (he's now 4) and he's only ever ripped one mesh panel (and that was recently, not when he was a pup!). They're easy to replace too, you can order just the fabric part, and that way you don't have to buy a whole new crate!!

    I love them!

    henrysmom-
    That one looks good too!

I need to decide between the N2 or the Canine Camper now.
    They both look good.

Any opinions on which is better?

Chrissy, I like the ones we have because they're really sturdy and heavy (but not too heavy to carry). You see, Henry had a crate very similar to the Canine Camper, and he learned very quickly that he could roll it... side over side like a barrel, AND end over end! LOL!

One morning I woke up to find him and his crate halfway across the room!!!

Is the link you gave the exact ones you have? (green/grayish color)
I see they have some different ones available.

Ours is the same as the N2, but an earlier version of it. These new hip colours came out about a year ago! The only difference I can see between the N2 (green) and the I2 (orange) is that the N2 goes up to 42" whereas the I2 only goes up to 36"? I'm not sure what the pricepoints on either are now... ???

I got ours at PetsMart here in Canada. I want to say that they were under $200... ???
