DefaultBack to the vet for Mocha

Poor baby she hates going to the vet (especially this one) but I noticed last night some red right beside her one eye. Upon further inspection there was about a 1/4" diameter spot that was raised and really red with a black spot in the middle ??? She was a good girl and let me look at it but it obviously bothered her when I tried to touch it. I can't tell what the black thing is I thought maybe a tick but if it is it's totally embedded because I can't see a head or any part of it just the black. She is on current Frontline Plus. I also noticed another small sore on the side of her head over a little further but it's just a little bitty sore she probably got from rough housing with Zeus. I wouldn't normally run her to the vet for a scratch but because of where it is and the black spot and it looks infected I want it looked at. We're going to our E-vet (vet hospital) because our regular vet is booked today and I can't take off work. The E-vet is really good and much cheaper though but they don't take appointments so it takes forever to get in (normally a 2+ hour wait). I put our name in this morning on the way to work though so I should just have to go get her after work and take her in and we should be 2-3 patients in line. Poor girl she has been left at this vet 3x for surgery so she's not fond of being there.
Good thoughs that it's just a sore and some salve and antibiotics do the trick.

When I got home last night it looked some what better and the black spot was gone. I decided to go ahead and take her in since I had our name in already and it was still swollen some and red. Vet took a good look and was pretty sure it was just a sore from a scratch or something outside. She thought if it was from Zeus more damage would have been done and I tend to agree. So she's got antibiotics for a week and some antibiotic ointment for in and around her eye. It wasn't quiet as red this morning but it's still noticably swollen some in that corner of her eye. Hopefully the meds will take care of it. Thanks for the good thoughts I hope this is the last of the injuries for a while.
