He seems to be coming along nicely - except for a bit of a scare at around 2:30 am. I think he licked the leg during the night. I actually think I HEARD him doing it cause I got up and when I checked on him, it was so red I thought at first it was blood! It's strange cause with all his other surgeries, he never ever licked any incision or wound. He probably didn't like that I sprayed it with the hydrocortisone.
I scolded him for licking and we both went back to sleep. At 6:30am it looked way better. It was amazing.
He walked to his breakfast and he was using the leg slightly on the grass. I don't remember this much progress so early last time. It's not even 3 full days yet.
I have him confined in my son's bedroom at the moment cause I'm expecting a cable repair guy that is supposed to arrive between 8 and 11am. I figured it would be much less stressful to confine him now as opposed to doing it AFTER the bell rings. He would dart off, grab something and try to go greet the guy. If he's in that room, he knows there's no point.
I'm still going to watch th leg and if it doesn't continue to improve, we'll be at the vet tomorrow. But as of now, he looks good. I even catch him smiling like his usual self now and then.
Once again, thank you all for carrying me through yet another surgery with this boy. I really, really, really don't want to go through this anymore.
Awww...wonderful update on Buddy. I'm so glad he seems to be feeling better and actually smiling! What a trooper!
I'm so glad to hear Buddy is healing so quickly.
I'm so glad to hear how well Buddy's doing!! Maybe his licking is helping to heal the incision
