ground hog! On one of our walks on the back side of our property he had this coon up a tree before I could even think. I never knew ground hogs went up trees!
Can you see it?
This past week we have had more wild critters on our property than I want to deal with!! Raccoons, skunks and ground hogs.
I hear you!!!! I have had to keep the girls on leash on our woods walks because of all the critters..Cricket cornered a young porcupine in a stone wall 2 weekends ago..that is all I need... :This past week we have had more wild critters on our property than I want to deal with!! I didn't know Groundhogs climbed trees either...but I didn't know porcupines could either until I saw it with my own eyes.
I knew groundhogs can climb a tree because M&J treed one last year.
I see him.
I love Fudge! What a hunk! He's like a big ole grizzly bear.
LOL....what fun for Fudge!!
Gee, I learned something new. Didn't know they could climb trees!
When the trees out back were young, we had a few that had a trunk diameter of about 1.5 inches, myabe 10 feet tall. Mr. Groundhog wanders over and decides the leaves at the top look pretty good. Up he goes. As he climbs the trees bends over. When he reaches the top, the tree is bent in a U and he is only 6 inches off the ground max, pointed down. He finishes his meal, and does he just step off? No, he backs down the way he came with the tree unbending as he goes. Gorundhogs are not the brightest animals.
Hershey Kisses, In charge of getting Ed out to the dog park so that he gets some exercise.
I didn't know they went up trees. Abby killed one in an open field. : I am so glad it didn't scratch her eyes out. Cute pictures. I bet Fudge was surprised.
Cool. I didn't know that. We don't have ground hogs here. But I do have a raccoon that visits my barn every evening and eats up left over horse food. And earlier this week there was a baby fox in the barn as well.
Gotta love critters
