I took Mambo to the dog park yesterday. He was playing with a stick. Than he started running. Well he ran right into a tree with the stick in his mouth. He screamed so loud. Ran into me and jumped in my lap. He looked ok after that. When we got home, he was fine. But about an hour later I noticed Mambo wasn't around. When I found him, you could tell he wasn't feeling good.
I tried to give him an apple slice, a dog biscuit, he wouldn't eat. I looked over his whole body and I do not see anything odd. So I am guessing his mouth his hurting him. I looked in there, but nothing caught my eye. He didn't want to do anything last night , but lay in my lap. Wouldn't go outside. Wouldn't play.
So I was able to get him to drink and eat alittle, but you can tell it hurts him. Is there anything I can give him for pain? I already left a message for our vet. The emergency vet last night said not to bring him in yet. Kinda watch him.
Any suggestions on something I can give to him?
he could have part of the stick lodged in his mouth or throat. If he doesn't perk up soon, I would bring him in to the vet. A friend's dog had a similiar thing happen. Couldn't find the source of the discomfort after playing and hurting himself from a stick. Turns out a rather large splinter was jammed in the roof of the dog's mouth and had quite an infection...
Ditto what Molly said. Get thee to a vet.

Throw the ball, damn it!
Yes, I agree, a vet visit is in order -- let us know how he is doing.
Mambo feel better soon.
I agree get him to a vet.
I always have toys stashed a way in the truck in the event that we decide to take the dogs somewhere. I dont like sticks at all. I dont wanna toss one and get hurt and I really dont want it getting jammed down their mouth for some reason or another.
I really really hope Mambo is fine and it just hurts a little and nothings really wrong..
I hope he feels better soon!
Vets now please
Oh no Amanda, so sorry Mambo isn't feeling well. Definitely take him in, he could have a piece of stick lodged in his throat.
Please let us know how it goes. Kisses to him from me. :-*

Poor Mambo! Hope he feels better soon! :-* Keep us updated
Oh no, I hope he doesn't have a splinter in his mouth. I just looked at a website recently about the dangers of letting a dog play with a stick. So many things could go wrong.
Here's the link......
Poor Mambo--hope you can get him in soon and they can figure out why he is so uncomfortable.
