We took Harley to the lake for the first time yesterday. It was so cute. There was a boat ramp with a dock beside it, so we all took off our shoes, took Harley by the leash and walked to the edge (after a thorough check for alligators). Harley walked up to the water, smelled it, stuck a paw in, then a second and took a couple of steps down the ramp.
Then I swear, it was like the heavens opened up for him. He gave a little leap, and in he went. He never got above his head, but he was jumping around, using his head to flip water on his back, chasing his toy rope, and generally having the time of his life. It was like a switch turned on inside of his head or something. He wasn't to sure, then BOOM! We took the leash off and he was all about the lake for the rest of the time we were there.
Of course, he promptly decided he wanted to forgo the nice clean boat ramp in favor of the weeds and muck on the other side of the dock, but he had a blast...

Sounds like fun. When Abbey was a pup, I took her to a friend's lake (clean, freshwater, small lake) and she waded around a little bin the water, then discovered the mud... let's just say that she had a tough time getting out of there..! haha.
Sounds like Harley had a good time. We really need pictures.
It sounds like you all had wonderful fun - where are the pictures?!!
