We were at the pond, and he'd just finished swimming. Just downhill from the pond, I spied a beautiful male pheasant. Tucker hadn't seen it yet; he was just coming out of the water. He hadn't seen a pheasant before today (not too many around here anymore).
I said 'Tucker, there's a pheasant!' The pheasant, in the meantime, had crossed over the lane into tall grass...I could just see his head. I pointed my arm, and Tucker ran off sniffing. He flushed the pheasant out, and it flew back over the lane, right above my head, with Tucker in pursuit. The pheasant landed in the field beside our yard; Tucker stopped running when he reached the creek (that runs in front of our property).
After we got back into the yard, I said 'go look for the pheasant'...he went sniffing through the field, but didn't find it.
It was fun to watch, and I'm sure fun for him, wondering what was that? ???

I love watching them flush wild birds. Nothing quite beats it!
That boy has a JH in his future!
Good boy, Tucker. It's fun to watch them do what they are "made" for doing. I bet he had fun, too.
Isn't it great to watch them having so much fun?
