Yes, it contains both wheat and corn gluten. Why? Is that bad?

I don't think it is on the list. I feed my cat Purina Cat Chow. From what I understand the dry foods are manufactured in a completely different facility.

wheat gluten is what has been tainted in the recalled foods, i think i would not feed it, as the recall list keeps growing and maybe in a day or two it could be on the list too. Can you find something grain free,or wheat gluten free at least or perhaps locally made with 'homegrown' ingredients that you know hasn't come from china or the like...

We are not feeding anything that has wheat gluten or any wheat at all in it. I would rather be safe than sorry. I was lucky that my dog food dosnt have any wheat at all.
everyone that I know around here is not feeding anything with wheat gluten in it...

Some Labs have an allergy to wheat and or corn. But this isn't what is causing the problem. The reason lori asked is because the company that is having all of the problems changed wheat suppliers and went with an outfit from China. They have found a plastic product called melamine in the food. Apparently cats are more sensitive to melamine than dogs.

Here's a site that lists foods not being recalled. You can also check the Purina site for info on their foods
    ( http://www.purina.com/us/home.asp ).

I actually went to Petsmart yesterday and tried to find a grain free dog and cat food. the staff was totally unhelpful. I asked if they had any and they just shrugged their shoulders. I had to look through like 20 bags of dog food and they ALL had grain. Does anyone know what dog/cat foods DO NOT contain grain? Also do you know where they are carried (such as petsmart) so that I can go buy them? Thanks!
