Yesterday I took Homer to the hospital after the terrible night he spent on tuesday (throwing up and sever diahrrea for the third consecutive day).
It is confirmed it is not parvo (thank god). It is a severe case of enteritis (looks like amoeba is the f... bug!) that got worse because the antibiotic that was administered seems to have problems with the non-corticoid anti-inflamatory heīs taking for his elbows (meloxicam I think).
He doesnīt have fever anymore, and despite the weight loss looks in a good mood and is well hydrated.
It seems he picked it at the park in front of my place, from smelling other dogsīs waste that nasty people donīt pick up
Unfortunately I will not leave my dogs off leash ever again, since they think they are goats and insist on gobbling the un-edible... sorry for them, but this has been too much, I thought he was going to die...
Poor puppers, glad he's on the mend.
Mom to Indy 6/12/98 to 11/16/11 (always in my heart), and Jobe 8-14-2000 to 6/24/2013 (Working TDI) English Labs, and Annie our Golden Retriever (TDI), and Kodiak (who will one day hopefully be a TDI dog if he doesn't kill me first).
Glad to hear Homer is on getting better.
Glad it's not Parvo. Knowing what it is is the first step to recovery. Get well soon, Homer.
Glad to here Homer is getting better.
Get better Homer!!
I hope he feels better soon
Glad Homer is on the mend!

Same thing happened to us a couple years ago at the dog park. Bo was in ER and hosp. for 2-1/2 days. Never went back. Glad Homer's doing better
