Abby stayed home today. Molly got to go to SU's sportsman's pheasant hunt today. After she cried for a couple minutes when they left....she went to her favorite place...the family room couch. I will admit, I was a bit nervous getting her from FC lines. I knew the drive & desire in her lines. When she is in the field she is fantastic but when she is in the house she is a couch potato. I feel bad when some of these labs get overlooked because people are afraid they are "wild."Many of the "field" labs get a bad rap. She is a sweetheart. I really don't know how she turns it "on & off" but she does.I wouldn't trade her for a million dollars.
Here is my girl today.
Awwww Abby is a real sweetie!!! :-*I couldn't agree more.I feel bad when some of these labs get overlooked because people are afraid they are "wild."Many of the "field" labs get a bad rap.

she is beautiful Georgie.
aww, abby is such a sweetheart.
luke and taylor were adopted from rescue, so i don't know what their lines are, but they definately have a field look to them, and they are total slugs and lazy bugs in the house. taylor is still young, and she can be a spitfire and definately has her wild side, but she can turn it on or off fairly well, too.

Abby has grown into a beautiful lab! Engery wise Jazzy is the same way, runs circles around Jake outside, but is very content inside.
She looks so content there! I agree...Ii know Tal comes from field lines. And one reason they are content in the house is probably because we give them exercise that satisfies their natural desire to run and fetch.
Abby is a beautiful young lady! Her coat is so shiny too!
Yep...what people don't know is that they are only "wild" if you let them get that way...energetic, yes, wild, no. And of course, an energetic dog can be controlled through training and exercise. All true field Labs should have an "off" switch. When you actually consider the original perpose of the breed (retrieving game) it requires a calm, steady dog that is willing to sit-stay for long periods of time. A truly wild dog would make useless gundog.I feel bad when some of these labs get overlooked because people are afraid they are "wild."Many of the "field" labs get a bad rap.
She is so pretty, Georgie.

Wow, Abby sure has grown into a beautiful girl.
Only thing, Georgie, could you control her a little bit more? She looks too hyped out. :P
Funny how they learn inside vs outside behavior.
