Well Twix has been living with us (or should I say we have been living with Twix) for 6 months now and has "morphed" into a completely different dog. Some of you are aware she came to us after being badly abused for puppy farming and was grosley over weight at a massive 42 Kilos. She has slimmed down to a petite 32Kilos and has settled in extremely well. She goes to work every day with my partner and has the free run of the camp (military) and is enjoying life meeting other dogs. For the first time since we have had her, last week she actually played with the other dogs, running around the training area and really giving as good as she was getting. We are so happy at this, as it means she really has accepted us!! She helps herself to the spare seat on the sofa, and if the door is open, the bed too!! She is perfect in every way!! She still has to wait for the hernia op, but that will be, fingers crossed, all sorted by the summer. Although she still has a bald bum from the pre op (see new bread of dog in lab chat).
Long Live Labs as they are just the best!!!!

I bet there were tears of joy when she was playing. She is lucky to have you!!
It sounds like Twix is settling in well. These labs are so resilient. They can overcome a harsh beginning & learn to trust us again. I'm so glad she is with you.
These labs are truly amazing.
Way to go Twix it is so good that she is learning and enjoying a new way of life.
Aww, how wonderful that things are working out for Twix. Does your heart good!
