Is this a stretch? Did Taffy know the train was coming into the station and Erica would be on it?
Background: My son's GF Erica lives with us from Monday evening through Friday morning each week. She comes from her job by train. She walks the 3 blocks from the station to our house. The time varies. Sometimes 6:30, sometimes 11:00 pm and anywhere in between. The other night, while I was in the kitchen preparing dinner, Taffy sat herself down in front of the front door with her "expectant" pose that she has. She then began wagging her tail while sitting there. Hubby even went to open the door to see if someone was there. Nope. Taffy moved and laid down elsewhere.
Seven mintues later, Erica comes in.
Did she know? Sense it? It can't be that she just heard the train whistle in the distance. That goes on all day without this reaction from her.
I wonder if she could "smell" Erica?
At the beach, Zoe can be playing in the water, looking for rocks, or chasing after sandballs. She'll sniff the air and look toward the other end of the beach.
about 5-7 minutes later, Lady & Lorena turn the bend. I can always tell when Lady will make her appearance at the beach.
Taffy, you have a good nose!!

That's so funny! Summer knows when her daddy is coming home she can hear his truck from down the street!

Ooops! I better not tell Erica this! :POriginally Posted by zoesmomBut cars/trucks do have their own sounds. A train tho? And to know which train of many?Originally Posted by summerluv
I will have to note her behavior next week. I'm really curious as to whether she "knows" Erica is on her way.
Between the hrs of 3-4:30, a dozen school buses stop at the corner behind our house. Wesley knows EXACTLY which one brings the dweckettes. Even when the bus itself changes (owing to a breakdown or something) or it's late or early.....
That's funny. What a smart girl.
My grandma's shih-tzu does something like that. She lives in a condo where they call on the phone to get let in. My grandma likes to sit with the tv tuned into the front door camera's so when the phone rings, Suzy(the shih-tzu) knows which ring is for the door and which one isn't, will go and look on the tv to see who is coming and then will walk over and wait by the door. It is really funny to watch her.
