    DefaultTal's surgery **He's Home! UPDATE**

Well he is doing fine and I am about to leave and pick him up. I called about 11 this morning and they were prepping him then. They did some bloodwork and everything is just fine. The vet called me about 12:30 and said he was waking up in recovery and was doing fine that I could pick him up between 4:30 and 6. I decided to go ahead and come home and chage clothes first!

I'll be back in a bit...

He may be a little groggy for about 24 hours. That's normal. Let us know when you're back home with him.

Well he is back home and is doing well. When I picked him up I was surprised at how alert he was..he was sure glad to see his dad!

He is groggy but I could not get him to lie down and stay there. He would not stay on my bed and he lay down beside me for a few minutes but then started to try and walk. I put him in his crate and he is finally lying down. The vet said to give him very small portions to eat tonight...about 1/3 his usual and I know he is whining because he is hungry. But I am sticking to directions!

I washed his crate pad and misjudged the time so I will wake him in a bit to put it in.

The showed me the incision and it looks really good. And he now has an Avid microchip.

So we are groggy but doing ok. I am still amazed tho at how alert he was when he saw me at the vet. I never let him put his paws up on my shoulders but I made an exception today.

Oh I am so glad my boy is home..
