After reading Connie's post about the mailbox it got me thinking about this. Kody has never lifted his leg to go and actually does more of a stretching squat. He does lift is right rear leg but only about 2 inches off the ground. It is actually funny to see him try to match a mark at a sign post or hydrant where another dog went. It is like he is wondering how they managed to get it so high.
I either read or was told that only 35% or so of male dogs actually lift their legs to pee. I'm just wondering how true that is. I am very happy Kody doesn't after seeing a neighbors male dog peeing on the house, shed, etc.
Buck does the exact same thing Kody does :P
I rather have that than him peeing on the siding of my house and on top of my plants. My neighbor's pug does that. It's amazing how high that little dog can get his pee by doing that.

Rider does about 75% of the time....but it wasn't until he was like 18 months old to do it...he still squats a lot though.

Jake's a squatter....but he's only 7 months old.
Mav's a squatter
Duke is over 2 years old and he squats to pee, he will on occasion lift his left leg a bit off the ground, but that's as far as he goes! lol
Thanks for the replies. It seems by the responses that maybe that 35% lift leg number is accurate.
Shadow has never lifted his leg that I have seen.He has always squatted. He is 9 months old
