I hope the Lab is o.k. too ... I'm assuming that they must have all fallen off the ledge ...
OMG I just saw this too...positive thoughts that the lab & the people get off that mountain safely...
my heart broke when I heard the lab was up there with them.... :'(
I heard that this morning on the news. How would you climb a mountain with a dog? I can't figure that out.
Why in the wide world of sports would they have a dog with them?! >

exactly my question. there have been way too many climbing accidents up there this year. and i don't see how a dog can climb a mountain. at least they had a locater device with them. most of the climbers don't. hope they all get down okay.
I'm not sure how the dog could climb either but I guess it depends on the degree of slope. ???
I hope the rescuers can find them and make an effort to get the lab to saftey along with the climbers.
You are being too kind. I cannot imagine it either. I think some folks do not have sense enough to lead a goose to water.Originally Posted by MickeysMommy

I feel for the Lab more and hope they are all ok
How sad, I hope they are all okay!!!
We did a 6hr hike/climb in the Yukon with my sister's dog this summer, although it is NOTHING like what those folks did. The dog loved it. He even wore his own pack and carried water, but there was one sleep area that we took the pack off him. He's a sled dog, so is very tough. He was used to doing steep hikes, more conditioned to it then I was that's for sure!! lol! But again, totally different situation then this.
