My sister is getting a golden ret. puppy and they can bring her home at either 6 1/2 or 7 1/2 weeks old. She was thinking that it would be better to wait until 7 1/2 weeks and I agreed, is this correct?
Also what is the best kind of clean up for puppy accidents on the carpet. She is going to crate train (already bought the crate) but the accidents are going to happen.
Thanks in advance!
7 1/2 weeks.
Congratulations to your sister! I just love goldens! ;D

I'm not sure why any responsible breeder would let a pup go at 6 1/2 weeks so that would raise a red flag for me...
Of course what's done is done, so definitely wait until the pup is 7 1/2 weeks.
I will pre sell a puppy to the right home, but they never leave my home until 8 weeks or later, and I always house train every pup. I think that the first couple of weeks should be spent getting to know each other, not cleaning up accidents.
7 1/2 weeks and hyrdogen peroxide.

Oh and we use Natures Miracle for cleaning up accidents. I am sure there is better stuff, but so far it works OK.
