I have never seen ice like this before. We got 4-5 inches of snow, then it got covered with ice all night long. We went out this morning, and the ice supported the weight of Ivy, Raleigh AND me! Yikes! We did an about face to come back inside before anyone had a joint-injury. I did get one photo, but quickly decided that the full photo shoot was not worth it. :-\ I also took a shovel and churned up the ice near the house to create a "potty zone", because I don't know how long it will be until this melts. Yikes!
Great shot, though. That picture looks as though you photoshopped it. wow
came back to look again. There's no shadow on the ice!
That's what I thought, too. I even hesitated to post it because it looks so fake. His toes are splayed on top of the ice. I think no shadow because it was still overcast? Or maybe because the snow is so overexposed? I swear it's not fake!!! ;D
Same here (western PA)....snow all day yesterday, snow and ice through the night. When Tucker went out this morning to pee (which he does in the field), everything was shiny with ice. He was skidding around on it, hard to get a grip...and at times his paw breaking through a few spots here and there. Poor guy stood in the yard and barked. I tried making a path to the field with a shovel, but couldn't break through the ice. He finally managed to go.
Now snow again, so it's over the ice, and he can get around.
We got about an inch of snow, then ice. The roads are finally clearing. City, State and County offices are closed for the day...........sun is shining away and the temp is in the 20's with a windchill of about 10! Fanny thinks this stuff is the greatest thing to come to her house. Eddie takes one look and hides..........
