    DefaultPraising Puppy???!!!???

Im not sure about this but I read somewhere that excessive praise is meaningless.
    Is this true?
Or does anyone agree with that?
It also said that you should touch around the ears and neck more enthusistically and use a more moderate tone to say "good dog"!
I just thought lots and lots of praise was a positive reinforcement.
Is this correct or is that an opinion?

Too much positive reinforcement, if used too often, DOES become meaningless and boring. You do want to praise good behavior but not excessively. If your pup does something REALLY good, lots of super enthusiastic praise is a great reward for a breed of dog that lives to please. If you praise your pup for every little behavior, he/she will get bored and the effectiveness of the reward wears off. I think praise is a very important communication barrier between you and your dog -- the LEAST thing you want is for your dog to become bored of the sound of your voice.
