Sally is in puppy obedience class and she is doing so well!! She honestly is the star of the class....well, Sally and a German Shepherd puppy....they are far ahead of everyone else. I work with her a lot here at home with the basic commands and it's really starting to pay off. She's just so darn smart and easy to teach!
We had class outside tonight and when we walked our dogs on leashes, Sally walked right beside me. She pulled a little, especially when another dog came close by, but just a gentle tug from me got her right back where she belonged. All the other dogs, except the GS, were all over the place. Their owners were struggling with them the entire night.
And then at the end of the night, the trainer brought out a little cloth tunnel (like they use in agility). I was really surprised how many of the dogs were afraid to go through. Not my Sally!! She took off through that thing like she had been doing it all of her short life! ;D
The trainer kept saying things like, "Okay, let's do whatever with your dogs. But Sally and Scout (GS), y'all take your dogs and do this other thing." I guess she's ready for the puppy obedience gifted program! ;D
aww, that's great!!! go sally!
Great job both of you!!! The classes are really to show you how to train your dog and most of the work is done at home. You're doing great!I work with her a lot here at home with the basic commands
;D THAT'S AWESOME!
Great job! You should feel very proud
;D ;D ;D What a good little doggie! And you are finding out that the key to training dogs is doing your "homework".

WTG Sally...and lab puppies should be the stars of every class. And congratulations to you as well. With puppy training you get out what you put into it. Keep up the good work. I love seeing the light bulbs going off in dogs heads
Good girl, Sally! ;D And good job to you for doing your "homework." ;D
