i heard that black and chocolate labs are more of hunting labs then yellow labs. that sounds weird to me..and i've never heard that before or read anything like that before. just wanted to hear what yall thought about that.
I see no difference between my Yellow and Chocolate, both have the same drive. The Yellow is more carefull and takes his time when flushing phesants, where the Chocolate will just jump in the brush and make a shit-load of noise.
We have yellows, blacks & chocolates in our retriever club & they all hunt well & also do well in hunt tests, not by any particular color.. I think it's more the breeding then the color. Some dogs have more drive & desire....the color doesn't matter.

No, that's a myth. It's right up there with the other one I heard...yellows are calmest, blacks are the best for hunting, and chocolates aren't good for anything.
I bet you've guessed that I don't believe that one either with my three....
