I had Rowan out for a walk this morning and on top of trying to contend with VERY icy streets... there is also the left over remnants of people's garbage..... the constant 'leave it' and 'drop it' were continually being uttered.
We came across one item.. and at first I saw she put something in her mouth but wasn't quite sure.... I told her to 'drop it'... and out popped a huge lug nut. I was SO proud of her.... and scared at the same time for what might have been.
I am thankful I have taught her this and continue to work on it - as these commands can truly save their lives.
What a good girl!!
Good girl Rowan! Yes it makes you glad they learn those commands. That is what keeps me going with teaching Tal. You never knwo, like with your experience, when one of those commands can make the difference between them being ok..or hurt.
Good girl! I agree that drop it and leave it are two very useful and important commands. Trent was still a baby when we got Cinder and she learned these right away so she could have toys and Trent could have toys without dog drool all over them!
good girl..don't want a lug nut in your belly.
Good girl Rowan!
good girl rowan!!
