Patrick, our black lab from the marsh is still rcvg daily hydrotherapy to his wound. His eyes are still a goopy mess and his neuter incision has a slight gape in it but it's filling in nicely. His wounds are looking much healthier and we're starting to see nice pink tissue - yea!!! He must also be feeling much better because in addition to the kisses he's giving us - we're now getting vigorous tail wagging. Hubby and I will be going to give him his hydrotherapy in a few hours and I'll try to get a few new photos.
Our "throw-away" choco female is now in a foster home. She must be pretty special because we had a foster home come out of semi-retirement for her. She's a sweet, lovable girl that is already spayed, hw negative, parasite free and crate trained and yet, her family didn't want anything more to do with her. Her foster mom is still working on a name - hopefully we'll have that and some photos to share with you soon.
Last week's "throw-away", Cassie, is a 5 or 6 year old 90lb yellow female. It was the 2nd time animal control had picked her up, the 1st time her owners came to get her - this time they said that they didn't want her and luckily the ACO called us because the owners said to euthanize her. Poor sweet girl – she was so happy to see us and showered our volunteers with kisses and affection when they pulled her. She is currently at my vet's office and may be starting her heartworm treatment in a few weeks.
Last month's "throw-away" was Brady, a 8 or 9 month, neutered, perfectly healthy and wonderful choco labby boy. His family also left him at animal control saying that he was too big. He's a doll - sure he's a young lab and needs work - but he's very responsive and will have know problems being integrated into one of our foster homes.
These are just a few of our dogs - we currently have 31 in the program. Thanks to everyone that supports us in any way - the funds, well wishes, payers and other support are appreciated by all of us - but especially these furry guys. Thanks!!
Thanks for the update!
