    DefaultThis is driving me nuts!

For some reason Tal has decided that his diet should include grass. The other day he hacked..just mucus except for the matted grass. He did that again today. Would make a nice basket or summer hat..

I watch him like a hawk when we are out but he is obviously getting it somehow. It is not like a bowlfull or anything but it would fit in the palm of my hand.

Any ideas how to get him not to eat this stuff??

the grass won't hurt him but if you are concerned try giving him some canned string beans with his meals. That has cut way down on the grass Nellie eats. I rinse the string beans to get rid of the extra salt.

My girls both do the grazing thing. Green beans haven't helped at all. I guess it's something they do. Boo will also eat spinach, lettuce, and any other greens. No clue how to get them to stop but if you happen upon something that works, I'd sure like to know. ???

Good luck on getting him to stop & if you do.....please let me know. I swear my girls are part cows. They also hack it back up or worse yet...when those long shards of summer grass get stuck coming out their butt!!! : Lovely to have to "help it out." !!!!!

I always thought that they ate it to make themsleves cough or throw up. Fanny does it more than Eddie and with the amount of time he spends licking and scratching himself it should be the other way around!

Barnsley is definitely a grazer, it makes me nervous because I don't know what everything is around here or if it is safe. He is always trying to grab mouthfuls of grass, plants, leaves, etc. I should try green beans though.

I can tell you exactly how to stop it:

    1) Get another dog.

    2) Let them chase each other around the backyard every day.

    3) In one month, you will no longer have any grass!

I hope this has been helpful.
