Need your help! a couple of weeks ago we found a tick on our 5 month old pup. We pulled it and no others were found, she is an inside dog, but we take her for walks outside frequently...
I took her to the vet last week to get stitches out (from spay surgery) and the vet gave me a 3 month collar for ticks only).
Problem is that this morning my wife calls me and says that she found a tick walking on the floor near the pups crate.
Are there products for inside the house (like foggers, etc)?
I am also thinking of starting her on K9 Advantix or Frontline Plus (not sure which one yet)
What do you guys/gals suggest?
We live in South Florida.... so temperature is 70-80 even now in the Winter!
We use Frontline.
I hate ticks. Bleglegleglegleglegl...
We use frontline on Hobart and have found it a life saver. The way it works is that the tick can still latch on but when they do, they die immediately. We still find dead ticks in the house once in a while, but at least they are dead. We find that if we are late giving him his dose he gets ticks all the time. If you do find one alive in the house, make sure to dispose of it in the toilet, they do not squish :P
We use Frontline too. Works really good. Those collars never worked for us.
Definitely use Frontline Topspot (use Plus if fleas are an issue) or Advantix. Don't delay. It's not worth the health risks that ticks pose.
My brother the vet said several years ago that the collars on the market at that time we not very effective. In some researches, some were actually thought to attract fleas.
I use Frontline from about March till August. It works great! That is the heavy tick season here (In northwest Iowa) Then in August (start of heavy flea season till after a couple of hard freezes) I switch to Program. Never have seen a flea on my lab.
Go with the Frontline. My old company made the Advantix and I haven't heard very good things about it.

Front line all the way. And I wouldn't worry about bombing the house for a tick or two. It's not like a flea infestation.
We also got Charlie the Lyme shot as we lost our last dog to Lyme's disease and I didn't want to go through that again!
Thanks for the responses, it looks like Frontline is the winner!
I guess I won't "bomb" the house for now.
Now I'm off to search for the best price online.
