I'd love to get a great group shot of my 3 Labs, but I can't get a decent photo of them. Invariably, I get one dog looking great - and the other two staring off in different directions. Or, two of the girls will be posing perfectly and the other will start licking...
Another good method is to tie a treat onto a string at the end of a stick then hold it away from you and shoot away. I guarantee, if you can keep then sitting, all eyes will follow that treat wherever you move it.
Do you dogs at least do a sit/stay? If they do - get them in their general positions and get basic camera settings. Have someone stand directly behind you and hold a really wonderful treat that they know the person has and have the person make some sort of sound that the dogs will perk their ears up too - "TREATS"!!!!! and snap quickly!!
first step - train them each to go a good Sit/Stay
- Use good treats while taking pictures to hold their attention
- make noises to get them to LOOK at you (I use a tennis ball - get Rocky focused on me...err the ball)
- take MANY MANY shots!
