Last week I posted a thread here and in the Rescue section about Sunny a 10 1/2 year old male yellow Lab in NJ. Sunny's owner had died and the wife wanted him out of the house ASAP.
I'm glad to report that Sunny got a ride and is safe in his foster home.
If anyone on this board helped save him thank you.

I am glad Sunny had a great outcome!
I missed that post. :-\What kind of person do something like that...the wife wanted him out of the house ASAP.
But I'm so happy Sunny is safe now. I bet he will get a forever home in no time!

It happens all the time. The dog isn't any fun anymore so lets get rid of it. A couple of years ago a friend of mine pulled Bear, a senior black Lab from the Rochester pound. The family dropped him off the day before Thanksgiving on their way to pick up their new puppy. Fortunately for Bear someone on the old message board from NJ adopted him. The irony is the new family had a puppy. Bear was a great big brother.Originally Posted by Emma the Lab

Wow ... great to hear that Sunny is safe and loved ... continuted thanks to you and all who help.
Great news for Sunny! I hope he finds his forever family fast. And god bless his foster parents. How cruel. If I die, Scotty's pet trust will get over $50K and if my husband does not want to be the caretaker, I have an alternate arranged, too. It just scares me so much to have my spouse discard my dogs like that (I don't think he'd do it, but you never know).Sunny's owner had died and the wife wanted him out of the house ASAP.
I don't understand why the wife would give the dog up. But it sounds like Sunny will get a good home..I sure hope so. He deserves it
Poor Sunny. Hope he does well in his new home.
