You have all heard the expression that a dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's. Our neighbor girl asked us if she could do cultures of our dogs' saliva to determine the rate at which bacteria grows vs humans. She is doing three dogs and three humans. Collection is scheduled today for 4:30 p.m. No food one hour prior. They have been given permission to bring the participants to school the day of the Science Fair. Should be interesting.

That is very interesting! Let us know how it works out.
That sounds very interesting! I'll be interested in the results.
My goodness don't let them come swab Ty's mouth...they'll discover NEW types of bacteria and things not known to man...
Sounds very intersting. You'll definitely have to keep us posted.

LOL; that is cute ... be sure to give us updates!
My hubby did that when he was younger. He said that the humans sample grew all kinds of nasty looking stuff and was worse then the dogs.
That's cool, Pat. I always wondered if that was a myth or not..
Is she using your mouth as one of the humans? :P Let us know what she find out!
I thought it was cats mouths that were cleaner than humans and dogs were the worse...it'll be interesting to see what she comes up with. Good luck with your experiment.
It's not the destination, it's the journey!
Depends I think on what they have eaten lately.
