This is my never ending problem with my girls (well, little one anyway)
Every time they get a drink from water dish, water goes everywhere around it.
I have plastic mat underneath it, and under that, I have bath mat (pretty good size)
to catch any drippings off their mouth.
Well, every time they drink, they walk away from the water dish quickly,
water still dripping from the flappy part of their mouth..
leaving trail of water everywhere.... (well, you get the picture, right?)
I know this is not a HUGE problem, but I though may be someone might have some
good trick, ideas etc....
Sadie does this too and it drives me nuts!! I chalked it up to being a dog thing and have just learned to deal with the wet feet! ;D
You may try one of those spill-proof bowls? I have heard that it helps to prevent dripping after drinks, too, but I don't know since I've never had one myself.

I have an old towel permanently on the floor beside the bowl and just wipe up after the slops
Barnsley is famous for this, he will trail water for 20 ft. from the bowl. I do have 2 bath rugs in a line, about 6ft. total to help catch the initial drips. He still manages to get it all over though. :-\
Hi there. I think this is just a Lab thing. Both my Labs did this same thing up until their last day. I just learned to always have something on my feet if I were going to walk by the water bowl. My Labs didn't really splash it out. But, they always left a water trail from their mouths. I had one Lab that loved to dunk her nose in as far as she could in the summer time. What a nice trail she made then! LOL
Just last night I was in the kitchen making supper and got wet socks! I was thinking that I am probably not the only lab mommy making supper in wet socks.
McKenzie does this too. It sends her daddy into a panick attack ;D since we just had new hardwood floors put in. I've explained to him a hundred times that the floor is treated and a little dribble won't hurt it. But you know the obsessive types, he's constantly running around with dish towel :

Mckenzie the lab and Maddie the Mastiff wanna be.
It's another labrador hobby! My girls feel it is mandatory to distribute drink water through out the kitchen. I keep an old bath towel nearby and just wipe up as we go.
The Constitution is suppose to guarantee everyone the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but the Constitution does not guarantee everyone equal outcomes.
Some people are more talented, educated, thieving and dishonest than others.
So I'm not the only one with an obsessive compulsive husband!!!
Yup Maggie is a slurper and a drooler too!!! Sometimes the poor toy poodle is in the way and ends up getting a bath (LOL).
We have hardwood as well.
