Yesterdays evening walk I noticed that he was limping a bit.So I look at his paw and he had a small thorn in it.Came out very easly.I was just wondering if there paws get firmer as they age.The thorn was very small and I did not think something that small would penetrate a dogs paw.

Zoe's paw pads got thicker, but a thorn will still be able to get into it. I check her paws after each walk or romp on the beach to make sure there's nothing in it. Also check between the bottom, inside the paw pads. This is her most vunerable area.
