We are going out of town in Feb for 4 days and are looking at a kennel for Payton. What questions should I ask?We are looking at in the next half hour. Input?
-how many staff members they have
-how much time is spent with each dog
-do they offer playtime - if not, how are the dogs exercised?
-do they provide food, toys and bedding, or require you to bring your own
-are they members of the ABKA (american boarding kennel assoc)?
and make sure to tour the facilities. Is the fencing sufficient and secure to the ground? What safety measures (double gates, roofed runs) do they have?
Thank you. Will be sure to check ouththe security of the fencing- hadn't thought of that.Originally Posted by kaytris
Yep -- I would ask all the questions posted above by kaytris. How much interaction my dog receives would be the burning question for me.
Are the dogs kept in kennels or are they allowed to play together like at doggie daycare. Is there staff on-site 24/7?
If today's visit is scheduled, it might not hurt to make another visit "unannounced". I always like to see the "real deal", and make sure that no one has prepared my "tour" for me.
