A couple day's ago I noticed Champ licking alot at his pee pee, which is something that he normally doesn't do. Occassionally, but not obsessively. I also noticed he was having alot of greenish discharge. I know that a certain amount of this (smegma) is normal, but this was copius amounts. So, I called the vet, and she had me bring him in. I also was told to bring in a urine specimen. She examined him, said he had an infection of the prepuce (head of the penis), gave me antibiotics, and said if it wasn't better in 3 day's to call. This is day 3, and it's not better. So, I call the vet back, she tells me to being in another urine sample so they can send it to the lab, and she is putting him on a different antibiotic. Anyone ever have any experience with this. TIA
No Karen, but I hope it's nothing and the antibiotics cure it. It must really bother the poor fella.

They usually have to test the urine to see what type of bacteria it is and that determines which antibiotic they give. Sounds like they went ahead and gave you an antibiotic hoping it would be the one to work and it hasen't ... if they didn't "grow" the other bacteria to see which one to use; thus another urine sample. Hope he feels better soon!
Good luck and keep us posted!
Hope the new antibiotic works!
