Just a reminder that our current search for new Board members ends on
January 15th. We need several new persons to help us get going again and
continue our mission of helping ill or injured rescued Labs and Lab mixes
receive that second chance.

A few points we'd like you to keep in mind if you think you would like to
join us:

** LABMED is an Internet-based organization and as such we conduct all of
our business over the Internet. Consequently, it is imperative that Board
Members have reliable e-mail service and Internet access.

** Participation on the Board of Directors also involves a time commitment
of several hours per week with more hours during busy periods or special

** Vacancies are filled according to the current needs of the Board. For
example, if we have a need for persons with Web Page experience, persons
with such experience will be given first consideration. That's why it's
important to tell us as much about your interests and experiences as
possible, because what you have to offer might be the very thing we need to
add to our Board at this time!

** Persons chosen to serve on the Board of Directors will be assigned a
mentor and will serve a three-month internship period prior to being
awarded full board privileges. At the end of the three-month period, a
decision will be made as to that person's continued involvement on the Board.

Further information on LABMED, including its Mission Statement and Funding
Guidelines, can be found at
Please read our materials carefully to determine if LABMED is an
organization with which you would like to participate. If you have any
questions, have difficulty accessing the web site, or need additional
information, please send an e-mail message to our Secretary, Donna
Harrison, at <mailto:[email protected]>[email protected]

If you think that you would like to join our team please send an e-mail
message with "Expression of Interest" in the subject line to Dianne Walsh
at [email protected] telling us about yourself and why you are interested in
joining this diverse and committed group of people, to work to provide
funds for abandoned injured or ill Labs. It is important that you include
your occupation, hobbies, and interests, as well as organizations with
which you are affiliated. We also need to know where you are located (city
and state or country).

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
