Thanks, Ender's Mom.
The kids and I took Desi to Maidu park today--wetlands and historic Indian area w/about 4 miles of paved walking trails--and walked for an hour. Desi wore her backpack and schlepped the wallet, water, keys, etc. She was so good! Everyone we passed was saying "What a beautiful dog," "What good dog." Why did I wait so long to get a lab?!?!
Yes, it helped greatly. Does anyone think she looks like she has some German Shorthaired Pointer waaaaaay back in her "pedigree"? Something about her head...
I will now procede to brag to everyone about what agood dog she is:
She has only barked once in 4 days..with kids who still nap, I appreciate this!
She only poops in 1 corner of the yard. (BLESS HER)
She LOVES my kids.
She follows us from room to room, then lays down at our feet.
There..are you puking now, from a sugar overdose? I can't believe she got dumped at the pound. The rescue (www.cc-labrescue.org she is "halla" is the bio's) said they heard of a group of 4 or 5 pure-bred labs dumped at the Bakersfield pound, and went & got them. Now she's here. I'll never understand people...
Thanks for saying my kids are cute. We kinda like 'em. ;D We have 3--4 years old (girl), 3 years old (girl), 6 months old (boy).
Very cute pics!! When I first looked, I kept saying "how did she get pictures of Sadie?"!! She looks soo much like Sadie, minus the white patch on the chest!! I could only find one picture of Sadie, but that 2nd picture is the face we get all the time!!
Got her vet records from the foster family...that vet estimated she was 2, not 1. Whatever. I don't care. It explains her wonderful lack of goofy puppy behavior, though. The rescue has been inundated with labs lately, and they've got a ton. (http://www.cc-labrescue.org/available_list.php) There were quite a few chocolate females.
