DefaultDo you leave collar on at all time?

    I was just wondering...

I always leave the collars on my girls at all times.
I just took ZsaZsa's collar off and she looked naked. ;D

Do you take collar off everynight, or leave it on at all time??

I take it off every time she goes into her crate and any time she's loose in the house.

I worked for a barn where a foal got hung up with a halter on and died. It was a traumatizing experience- all of mine stay naked after that unless they're headed outside.

I know most here seem to take them off when the pup's are crated or even just in the house, Sammi's is always on. Have alway's kept collars on my pet's, just alway's want there i.d on them- she is micro chipped so quess it's not such a problem now. Guess it's a personal decision.

Fergus never wear a collar unless we are out on a walk. Any other time he is "naked", I prefer the naked look

Mine are always naked unless going for a car-trip or walk. I don't want to risk getting them caught around each other's jaws during feisty games of bitey-face or getting them stuck in crates, decking, etc. Too many horror stories with some not-so-happy endings. :'(

The only time my dogs wear their collars is when we go out for a walk.

The main reasons being; a.) I have heard way too many horror stories of dogs getting caught on each others collars, b.) the collar could get caught on things around the house, c.) the jingling of the tags drives me nuts, d.) I don't like the "ring" a collar leaves around the neck -- I think it looks ugly.

So yep, I prefer the "naked" look.

Now that we have two labs they only have their collars on when we go out. I have heard too many stories of dogs getting hung up & choking on collars. My girls play too much bitey face to take a chance.

I leave collars on all the time, too. The only time I didn't was when our Husky/GSD was inside- I took his off when we went to bed so the jingling tags didn't keep us awake. I did the same with Mick until I found Pet Pockets to put his tags in. Mick was so funny- when I did take his collar off (to change tags, etc), he'd sit infront of me nosing his collar until I put it back on him. At just under 6 months, Caleb is doing the same thing.

I leave Oona's off in the house. Cappy's dad had a horror story a couple of weeks ago where a friend of his came home to find one of his dogs had died because they got caught playing.
