Well ... we had our biggest rain of the year, 4-3/4" between 4 pm yesterday and 4 am today. The ponds are all overflowing. Just to give a comparative illustration, here's a certain angle view of the pond just below the house last August, and again this morning.
The mallards around our pond love it and Cappy and Remi sit in the run watching the crazy ducks frolicking a mere 15 yards away.
A view from the SE corner of our property back towards the barn 400 yards away. This pond is normally 1/3rd acre. It's now 7 acres and growing.
And finally ... just to keep the excitement level up, lightning struck a double wide row of large round hay bales that were stored on our N Property around 8 pm last night. We were lucky to only lose three by getting a large tractor in there during the pouring rain just to separate them so they didn't all go up.
Gee, now wasn't that an exciting 24 hour period? We hunt again tomorrow morning so all is well.
Remi and Rusty aren't my whole life. They're trying to fill the hole in my heart left by Cappy's passing.
Beautiful shots of your awesome property, Jim & Carol! Breathtaking.
Want some of Zoe's back yard? LOL
