    why do they do this??
    it's so gross and Then he has to have another Bath!
    cause he is a house Dog.
    and we can't have a dog in the house who rolls in dog poo
    what do I do about this??

    Brees eats it so I'd rather have your problem! lol I gag when I see her do it - so gross. It's something we're trying to stop.

    Ugh. I have to say, I think I'm glad Angus eats it rather than rolls in it

    You can try a spritz of Listerine mixed with water to get rid of the smell...

    There are two different theories why dogs roll in stinky stuff.
    #1. They are trying to mask their sent from other animals.
    #2. A dog that comes back to the pack with lots of different smells is a storyteller and storytellers are held in very high esteem.
    I think that Oona does it for reason #2. When she rolls in stuff I wipe the offending area off with Nature's Miracle for skunks.

    Mine have never rolled in dog poo and besides, fox poo smells better.

    Fortunately it seems that this habit only comes out in the summer at the field and we just wash them down with a hosepipe

    Like Oonas Dad says, it is a natural thing that dogs do...... it stems from their ancestry....... one of my dogs rolled BEAR poo..... you think dog poo stinks, you oughta get a load of BEAR POO !!! PEEEEEEEEYUUUUUU !

    well I just have to give him a bath all the time and I did not think it was good for his skin?? :-\
