And what a pleasure she is to have around.
My heart was breaking over losing Snook, the fun loving, handsome, game playing husky mix, to ill health. My husband didn't want me to cry anymore and enlisted the help of friends to find me a look alike. When I found out I said I wanted a yellow lab, a Snook look alike would hurt too much.
Christmas eve, he came home at lunch time with Fanny in the back of the work truck. She was lying on a wound up extension cord looking out the front window, being held by hubby's partner. I went out to the truck and she turned to me, came into my arms and my heart.
She came from a back yard breeder. And while I wasn't happy with that, all Pat knew was he needed to start mending my heart. She was a joy from the start. Windsor thought he had a playmate again. 3 weeks later when she had grown a good bit, he wasn't so thrilled.
She would sleep lying on my belly and chest with her chin on my shoulder. I used to carry her into bed everynight.
She was already housetrained! Oh joy!
She loved her first snow fall! Her first swim! Her first time at the bark park. She taught Windsor to go on walks. She has tried to teach Eddie to swim.
She loves to ride in the truck lying down in back right in the middle so she can look out the front window.
I forget she is a dog sometimes. She almost always has a grin on her face. She loves running in long grass. She hates Eddie sometimes because he plays dirty, nips at her back legs because he knows that's her weak spot, she hops around and then she snaps at him and he runs away and then she loves him again because they then have a good bitey face game.
Fanny is one of the most loving dogs around - she goes up to strangers with a smile on her face, give them a lick and they in turn give her a pat and she loves the attention.
My heart still breaks over Snook, this week has been hard particularly, but then I look over at her and I can smile. Her favorite position is on her back with her had to the side and her legs bent, underneath the heat vent. She loves her evening nap on our bed having tossed the blankets to the end of the bed. She loves green beans.
She loves me. I love coming home to her, she grins and grunts at me, bouncing up and down and letting everyone know she is first in line for the hugs.
She loves to see hubby coming home in the evening, all is right with her world then.
She loves squeaky toys, carries them around in her mouth for hours, whining and crying, then finds a spot and lies down with it in her mouth and chews the thing but doesn't detroy, it will be good to chew and play with another day.
She loves marrow bones and animal crackers.
I love you Fanny.

OMG!!! That is the most beautiful dog I've ever seen. THAT'S MY ANNIE!!! It looks just like Annie (especially the pic of her lying on the pink chair) and from what you post, it sounds just like her.
I still miss Annie so much. :'( Please give Miss Fanny a big hug and kiss for me. :-*
