Whenever Judy is scolded, usually for countersurfing or not coming when called, I call her to me to get her scolding. She approaches with ears back and head low, sits in front of me and offers her paw. I say "You're sorry? How sorry are you?" At that, she rolls over on her back, belly up and ears still back. It just melts my heart, and I pet her and softly tell her "OK, you're my baby, don't ___ again." (Of course she does it again.)
Awww! I can picture her coming with her ears back lowering her head...I would want to give her a big hug! It's so hard to scold them when they give you that look.
