On Wednesday, I had to bring the boyz to my parents' house during the day because we had a few showings scheduled. Ollie has been to my parents' house many times before, but never for any great length of time.
I crated both boyz, Henry in his sof-krate and Ollie in his hard plastic crate (like a varikennel), told them to be good, and left, around 1:30 in the afternoon.
My dad got home around 3:30 to be met at the door by a bouncing black Beast!! Ollie shot out the door and my dad yelled, "OLIVER SO!! You come back here right now!!" and back in he went!!! Thank god thank god thank god.
My dad said it was like walking into a winter wonderland when he walked into the house. Apparently Ollie had busted out of the crate and gone on a little adventure. My parents' house is not exactly dog-proof (hence the boyz stay in crates, even Hen), with knick-knacks galore out and around and house plants (none poisonous however) everywhere.
Ollie must have blown his mind in glee with his newfound freedom. He only destroyed one thing... a draft stopper (a long "dog" creature filled with styrofoam), hence the "snow" all over the living room floor, and did try to do a number on a tube of my mom's hand cream. Other than a few floor plants knocked over, the house was pretty much intact!! I feared for the couch cushions... Ollie is going to be a lifer in the crate I think.
These pics were taken on the hooligan and his brudder after we came in from a walk, hence the collars and harness.
OLLIE: Who me, Momma? Ohh no, I no do nuffins. I's cutiepie good boy chewing my bone here.
[you can see styrofoam remnants on him and all over the couch!]
HENERY: I no watch. I do this.
HENERY: I guess I still the best boy that Momma got. Yep, that's me. Number one son.
How did he bust out of the crate? I am glad he only did minimal damage. When you said "winter wonderland," I was picturing the sofa or some throw pillows being destuffed. Too funny!

Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for much, but bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
I'm not sure how he busted out, I must not have latched the door completely? In any case, his wire crate is now at G-ma and G-pa's house!! lol!
Oh, this boy makes me laugh... I'm just so over the moon with him, even if he is a little Shanny in training. lol!!
Hahahaha! Oh, Felicia, I had to laugh at the "Number 1 son" comment. No doubt Theo would be the same way with a puppy, despite all the $hit he's put me through...
NUMBER ONE SON - HAHAHAHAHA

It sounds like they had fun. Glad there was no serious damage. Well...boys will be boys.
ROFL!! that's too funny - thanks for the story Felicia - I needed that bit of good humour!
and may you sell your house quick!
Me, Abzilla and the Helomonster.
What was it that Laura said, it's always her black ones that are crated.
