    DefaultNew Puppy Today...help me pick out a name!

    Just joined the site and did an introduction post which you can read here! I adopted another Lab today, a male...he's 32lbs and 4.5 months old and I need help coming up with a name I like that falls into these requirements:

    • Must be Japanese
    • 2 Syllables, {3 if you can shorten it too 2 like Toshiko > Toshi!}
    • I'm partial to the letter K this time
    • Can be either a male or female name

    Just curious, what's the Japanese connection for Lab names? Now if you had an Akita or Japanese Chin or any other Jap breed, I'd understand but for a Labrador?

    I'm not picking on you or anything. Just wondering.

    I just really tire of all the same names people use for their dogs, same as with humans...everyone always seem to name their dog or baby from the same 100-200 names or less.

    Everywhere I go and the people who meet Toshiko; its exciting and unique cause most here in the US have never heard of her name and there is a story behind it as well as its own unique meaning too that all Asian names have.

    I like people to go huh, when I tell them my dog's name...soon I'll be able too make them double-huh...hehe

    On another forums my favorite submission thus far has been:

    or Kuni for short!

    Forgot to add in this bit of info, but I did get him from the country yesterday at a small chicken/farm festival where some relative of mine live. I was invited with my current Lab there and these Lab pups were there and just too convincing to pass up since I wanted another anyway... The name fits well from where I got him!

    oh and might as well add that it doesn't have to be a K only name, but I'm thinking I may want that the most. Whatever comes up that stands out the most and rolls off the tongue easily and quickly!
