Gosh I feel terrible. Mackenzie has been crying for an hour. She's finally stopped. I didn't think this would happen. We have been a foster home to a bunch of kittens lately and she's been fine. The first two pups left this morning while she was at preschool and she was fine. Then when she got hom I told her Belle was leaving. Oh boy. She really is attached and that Belle adored her - wagging like mad at the sound of her voice. <sniff sniff>
I told her from the beginning that we probably wouldn't be keeping one just in case there were no keepers. Easier to spring "Yeah we are keeping one!" than to say we are and tell her we are not. Belle was the smallest of the girls right off with a thin "gay" tail so I discounted her at 5 weeks and promised her to a wonderful family with a 5 year old little girl so Mackenzie would know she would have a girl of her own. Well I don't like any of the three girls. Two of the boys are okay but not keepers as boys have to be just about perfect. This litter really didn't click like I hoped. Oh well. They are all healthy and adorable and have wonderful new homes. I'm down to 5 right now with 2 tomorrow, 1 Friday, 1 Saturday, and 1 next Tuesday.
On no, poor Mackenzie! I can just imagine how sad she must be, I'd have a hard time too. How did she react to previous litters leaving? I bet since she was younger it was easier to "let them go".
Awww, poor Mackenzie. It's a hard lesson for a little one to learn, but a good lesson. We love things and then we let them go. Will any of them be nearby so she could go visit?
Aww poor Mackenzie!

Awwww, that would be tough on a sweet little girl, but she'll be okay... *sniff*sniff*

Do we get one more round of pictures? pretty please? ;D
Poor Mackenzie :'(
Awe, poor Mackenzie. It would be hard no matter how you explained it. She is a good caregiver to those puppies and it is so hard to let go. I hope she feels better soon.
Aww... poor Mackenzie.
