Our family cannot thank you enough for wisely surmising that Zeb had a ruptured abscess.* It looked so much like someone had grabbed his throat and tried to throttle him.....which had us so baffled as we have had such good experiences with them in the past......our vet told us that often these hot spots often do look like the dog has been bruised or attacked........
We are all of the mind in the Mess Pot Household that you all saved his life.* We are quite certain that we would never have realized in time that this was a much more serious problem.* To Tatyana and the others who suggested it was a ruptured abscess, thank you, thank you, thank you.* We are in your debt.
Our boy is feeling a bit better today.* He is slowly regaining his strength.* While he still does not have that Mess Pot spring in his step yet, I know it will be back soon.
I have always felt it was a very fortunate day in my life when I stumbled across this forum 6 years ago, but yesterday's events made it even clearer how blessed I am to have you all to turn to in times of need as well as times of happiness.
Take care and hugs to all your precious furbabies.

I am glad Zeb is feeling a bit better today.
May his recovery be speedy.
And I feel the same way about this place. When something happens I know immediately where to come for advise and I also really really value it and appreciate everyone taking the time to help me out.
Glad he's doing better!!
Yayyy Tatyana!!! Good job, girl!
So glad he is feeling better...I mean really..what would we do without our messpot and messpot stories?
I am glad you figured out what was going on with Zeb and he is on the mend. I read the original post and didn't get to reply. I am glad to hear an update.
This forum is wonderful...
I haven't been on much lately so I am just catching up. I found your original post about Zeb and it really does sound lucky that you posted about his problem and some members had a good idea what it was. I'm really glad that he is on the road to recovery.
Lee, I am so relieved also that you found out what it was and got it taken care of.
I know exactly how you feel about this forum. They have saved Angus' life before, too. If not for JL, I would not have recognized his intestinal blockage. I, too, am very thankful for the knowledge and support here. VERY thankful.
Give that boy a big hug from us! And a hug for you too.
