    DefaultCompulsive lickers?

Sammi is a compulsive licker. Nothing would make her happier than being allowed to lick your face....anyone's face....constantly. I've been working on "NO LICK" with her for a couple of years now and there is improvement. But obviously most guests aren't going to know the "no lick" command so Sammi will attempt some heavy lickage with them....to the point of being a nuisance. She still tries it with all of us actually until she's been given the "no lick" command. And once she's been given that command, she "air licks" or turns to Holly and starts licking Holly's mouth. If I say it again, she'll stop licking period.....but it's like it's killing her and she's gonna pop if she doesn't lick something soon.

I wish I knew how to break her of this. Do any of you have compulsive lickers?

Thunder is the same way!!!! We tell him no kisses. Sometimes it works and most times it doesn't! He's just not happy unless he is in your lap kissing you everywhere, CONSTANTLY!!! I'll be interested to hear some ideas for nipping this also.

It's not the destination, it's the journey!

Zoe loves to lick ... whenever she gets up in bed with me; that's what she wants to do ... lick, lick, lick. SU says she is bad now because I let her get by with it as a puppy. I sometimes bury my head in the pillow to make her stop. She will stop with a firm NO ... but it takes a few of those.
Cissy likes to give kisses, but she licks herself! : Mostly if she gets bored ... she is OCD and has caused lick granulomas on her front legs.

Brigetta is also a compulsive licker. If any part of you is within tongue distance...it will be licked!

Neither of the Labs lick - amazing, huh? Otis will nibble.

Stella on the other hand, loves legs and feet.

Sorry Charla - no advise (I only wish I could get that lucky )

I don't but my daughter does. He licks floors, furniture, the other dog's ears. Anything he can reach. No explanation for it and no stopping him.

Theo will lick my face until it hurts. And if a visitor is wearing open-toed shoes and has lotion on? Nonstop lickfest. We actually have to put him in a down-stay to get him to stop.
