I co-own one of my pups, Red. Red and his owner (Joe) did so well in Basic Obedience at my obed club, that I thought it would be a good idea to 'keep the ball rolling', and Joe entered Red in the CGC class. Since the class is held on Wednesday nights, the night that Joe typically has meetings, silly me offered to take Red through the class, if Joe would attend on those nights he did not have metetings. HMMPPFF, well Joe attended the first two classes and that was it. I have taken Red the last 5 classes.
We've made progress though, as we can finally sit with the other dogs during 'lecture' (as opposed to standing off to the side), and can finally do the class in a flat collar (as opposed to the prong). But, really Joe has done virtually NO training in between classes. In fact this weekend, I asked Joe to work on Red greeting other dogs and he told me Red had a great time wrestling with the other dogs from his hunt excersion and chasing them around. OIY, that kind of help I don't need!
So, for the first time that I have done a CGC I have this feeling we are going to fail. Red has such potential, I just wish his owner would try!
Tell ya what, I will NEVER offer to do that kinda thing again! Test is tomorrow night, sigh, we'll see what happens.
Oh boy!! Good luck Karen

Good luck! Are you taking him for the test or is Joe?
Good luck...do the best you can. Nothing you can do about it. Just have fun. What made you do a co-ownership? I assume you bred the dog...just curious on these things.
I am sure you and Red will be great. Good luck.
Good luck. The pup might fool you.
