Saw a lady walking her lab last night and I asked her if her dog was aggressive and if that is why she had that on him. And she said no it part of training him. She didnt get into it with me on how this is training. What do you guys think she meant?
dunno....I steer clear of dogs with muzzles. Never heard of that used as training??

Could it have been a Halti or Gentle leader? I know some people confuse them for muzzles.
I wonder if it wasn't a muzzle but a gentle leader or whatever those halter looking things are called.

No I know what those look like. IT was a muzzle. I use to have teh one gentle lead or whatever its called. Didnt work out to well. Left it down one day and Tater ate it. Thats how he tells me if he likes the collar or leash. Well I was just wondering.
She could be training him to leave food/poop/other nasties left on the ground. I have seen a few people in my area with muzzled dogs for this reason.
I have a muzzle for Zoe "just in case" she gets hurt and growls and snaps. Some dogs do that, don't they?
Anyway, every so often I take it out and put it on her for about 30 seconds just to get her used to it. But I guess that's different from what the woman was doing.

Maybe she just didnt want her dog picking up poop and other junk off the side of the road. Her way of training "leave it" maybe?
