Poor Monster started to shake her head really bad yesterday so this morning we took her to the vet for what I call the "serious ear clean". We bought some new ear cleaning solution since ours was out and she has an antibiotic that we have to rub into her ears 2x a day.
I have no clue how I'm going to clean her ears since we can barely hold her to do it and she runs if you don't hold her...should be fun

When you posted on Saturday night, I guessed then that it was a yeast infection :-\ Poor girl...diluted vinegar is always good for these if you dont have any special solutions, which you DO now. Good luck cleaning her ears yourself lol! Try making her lay down, then plying her with lots of treats while you do it. You know...the basic bribery gets you everywhere technique!
I've heard of people smearing peanut butter on the refrigerator door and then doing the ears while the dog is busy licking at the peanut butter. I have no idea if that works, never tried it myself as both mine are not too terribly bad at having their ears cleaned. Our vet had us use baby wipes for just day to day cleaning (non-alcohol unscented), just wrap them round your finger and dig in. It was much easier than dripping solution all over the place.
I feel for you, both of mine have a yeast infection in their ears at the moment too. Lots and lots of dark brown goop. Ick. Cost me close to $250 at the vet yesterday for the two of them.
The best day to day solution is on labby's site. Gentian Violet can be ordered from your pharmacist.
Or if you dont want to make the above solution you can purchase it pre-made here
Be good Molly so mommy can treat your ears!
