I think my chocolate is as cute as can be ;D, but... what is the most popular color? After looking at all your lab fest pics, etc. , it seems that yellow is the most popular? I don't mean, what is the chance according to genetics, but rather what do breeders try to deliver, so to speak.
In my neighborhood is almost only black labs, about 10, Yellows: 1 light yellow male and my Emma... and 1 beautiful chocolate male.

Around here it seems to be black labs. TangerineFizz (she literally lives right down the street from me) has two yellows and I've seen a few others. And we have two chocolates on our street. But mostly I see blacks.
Lets see... our group of friends work out to 5 yellows, 2 blacks and 2 chocolates(I personally have a thing for chocolates)
Counting Zoe, here's the breakdown among her friends:
Linda and Zoë, the Umlaut
I think I am partial to yellow........
I see mostly blacks down here too. Angus is the only yellow Lab at our club. There are several blacks. No chocolates.
In fact, now that I think about it, I'm not sure I've ever seen a chocolate in person!

Gone ahead, but forever in my heart:
Crash, Pit Bull x Rottweiler x Golden Retriever
A lot of yellows in my area...then blacks and then chocolates.
I prefer chocolates.

Connie!!! no way!!!!!!! At all the dog functions youve been to? Never a choc? wow!
I think it is 1- Black 2- Yellow 3- Choc
Back in the day, in the show rings, some judges actually snubbed yellows (this was before choc were even accepted).
Someone here posted last year that they ran into a judge like this. Who only ever chose black labs...maybe it was Laura? not sure...
When we first got our Bess (BF, AKC bench line, 55 lbs., 1967-81) NONE of the books about Labs I read at that time mentioned the possibility of Chocolate or Yellow Labs.
Labs -- at that time -- were considered as being universally BLACK.
