He found a piece of broken glass and was running around like he found a lost treasure. He only had it for a minute before I could get him to drop it but apparently he cut his tongue It looks like 2 small punctures but it's bleeding pretty good. Not gushing or anything, but drops. I gave him some ice to knarr on. Anything else I can do?

I dont know - ice would be one of my first thoughts.
Ouch! Ice would be my first reaction. It will slow the bleeding down. Hope you can get better suggestions but I do hope he's ok!
The ice is a good idea.

Hope it isn't anything serious.
Brigetta bit her tongue a few weeks ago during a play date. It was bleeding really bad at first...I kept giving her ice cold water and it eventually stopped. See if Frankie will lick an ice cube.

Found this info on injury to a human tongue, ould apply to a dog also I would think.
See the doctor if:
the laceration is very large or shifts around when the tongue is moved
the laceration won't stop bleeding
there is dirt or debris in the wound
the jaw can't be moved fully
there are other injuries
Push the part of the tongue that's bleeding against the cheek or the roof of the mouth.
Use a soft diet for about two days. Avoid tart or spicy foods. Avoid splintery or sharp foods such as taco chips. Expect about 4 to 7 days to heal.
Expect bad breath. See the doctor if the tongue swells significantly,. or if there's fever, or swollen tender glands below the angle of the jaw.
OK good luck trying to push the tongue against Frankies cheek though. Hope the ice helps. That seems like a good idea.
Poor Frankie, I think ice is a good idea too.
Toby had his tounge bit by another dog about 2 months ago. Vet said to hold his mouth shut for a bit to get the bleeding to slow down/stop. So he doesn't pant and drool to keep up the bleeding. It will stop fairly quickly. He should be back to good in a couple of days. Toby's tounge was "pierced" to the point that I could have put a tounge ring in him to make him a "hip" dog, but it healed SO fast. If I remember correctly, his tounge was completely healed within a week.
Hope this helps and I hope Frankie gets better!!
oh goodness frankie! no experience or advice, just wanted to say i hope he's ok!
