    DefaultTUCKED VULVA..ARE WE ALONE?

My 6 1/2 month old Kaycie has a tucked "tee tee" as we call it. We first found out when she was 4 months old when she started tinkling everywhere. At the worst it was I know 20 times in one day. We rushed to a vet (near by...our vet back home is wonderful and 2 hours away) and were put on Clavamox twice a day for 14 days. She just weighed enough to be on it. Now we are having tee tee problems again, and have sulfur med's in the mail from the vet back home. Has anyone else experienced this will Labs they have had? What are your opinions or suggestions? I haven't seen much about this on here, but i'm dying to know more.

it's actually called an inverted vulva...and usually it corrects itself after the first heat.

It happens more than you think.

Zoe has an inverted vulva. She was spayed @ 6 months so didn't go through her first heat.
    She seems fine, though.

Sydney has an inverted vulva, the vet examined her and did not
notice any problem. I had her spayed at 8 mo, and she has
not had any problem at all.

Hmmm, I checked out Laura's article, and Zoe's vulva doesn't look like pic of the "innie."
Is there such a thing as a "semi innie?" ???

Are you referring to an inverted vulva?* If so, Sami will join your club.* ;D* Sami has one and I'm waiting to spay her until after her first heat.* Hopefully that is what your vet has recommended to you too!* If she is getting UTIs, you should probably give her cranberry pills.

lol...who hoo finally someone to be our friend lmao Actually yes, our vet back home has recommended that we wait until after her first heat or at least until she is a year old. I have noticed lately that the coloration of the hair in the general area is darker and discolored. HOW do i tell if she's already in heat? maybe i'm just a bad mom and have no clue what i'm lookin for. I mean i haven't really tried to inspect other dogs that have been...lol HELP.

You'll know if your dog goes into heat by the swelling of the vulva and blood around your house.

I'm guessing, but this could be vaginitis. Sami had it ... our vet didn't even treat it. Going through a heat cycle should help this as well.
